Steve and The Chili Peppers take on LA

Hey Kathy fans,

The time has finally come! In just 24 hours, I will be off to sweet, sunny LA to go apartment shopping with Salsa and Mari, my two favorite chili peppers/LA residents! Wish me luck!

P.S. There will be plenty of pictures. Keep checking facebook.

Super Fun Time

'Sup Kathy fans,

This morning I had to wake up at 5:45Am to take my mom to the hospital for some routine tests...oh my god was that not fun. The test took 6 hours (she had to go into the operating room), and I literally had to sit in the waiting room the entire time listening to how that umpire ruined some pitchers perfect game or something like that. Thank the Lord for game boys.

I find it just a touch weird that I've become almost completely de-sensitized to hospitals, doctors, surgeries, etc. I feel like most people my age would get really nervous or upset at having to take one of their parents to the hospital, but it just doesn't seem to faze me anymore. It's almost as if I grew up with my mom being sick all the time. Oh wait.

Anyways, I don't know if this is the place to go on and on about this very personal issue, so I'll leave it at that. In other, (more exciting) news, I've got 160/255 Botany drops, and thus I've almost acquired all of Reimi's battle trophies! Yay!

Yeah, I know, I'm a nerd. Screw you guys, I'm goin' home!

P.S. Here's a totally unrelated memory; I decided on this one because it was decidedly happier than what this post is actually about.

Home is Wicked Boring...

Having spent a day at home, I realized why I had so much fun living in Boston: Mattapoisett, MA sucks ass. There is nothing to do within a half hour's drive, and I'm not really close to any of my childhood friends. As such, I'm pretty much stuck at my house playing video games all day, which is great, but gets old after awhile. I'm currently playing Paper Mario (per my girl's suggestion), and Star Ocean 4 (because battle trophies are fun to collect).

In other, more exciting news, it looks like I'll be in LA from Thursday, June 10th to Sunday, June 13th to look at apartments. If you're in the area, call me up and maybe we can find a Carlito's to chill at.

I still haven't quite recovered from the shock of being done with college yet; it's weird that there won't be any more 5pm dinners, or that I won't be moving in with Brad, my Roommate Emeritus, in the fall. No more crazy bar crawls to Charlie's, Grendels, and our other favorite Harvard Square establishments, and I don't even need to mention the long-distance relationship I'm about to enter.

It's weird, because I knew that my time in college was finite and that life wouldn't be like this forever. Why then, is it so hard to believe that everything is going to change? I guess it's just so easy to get attached to what's going on in your life at any given time, and that makes it so difficult to change everything and move on. I'm also continuously amazed at how easy it is to forget how much friends and relationships mean to you until they aren't around anymore. Life is confusing sometimes.

Last but not least, I'll leave you all with a photo; photos are manifestations of memories, which are without a doubt among the most important parts of the human experience. No matter what happens, no matter where you are, memories are the one thing that friends can share forever: after all, all you have to do is remember them, right? :-) (Remember this picture?)

Wow, this post got really deep really fast. Thanks for reading, everybody.

FFX reference, go!

So I graduated from Harvard on Thursday, and today it finally hit me: in just two short months, I will be leaving everything (and I mean literally everything) behind and starting my life anew in the city of angels. I realize that it will be very difficult to keep in touch with all my friends, so I decided to create this blog so that everyone will be able to see what I've been up to.

I know what you're thinking: "Steve sucks at keeping in touch with people he'll never update his blog blahblahblah Tidal Wave." However, I'm going to do my best to keep this beast updated so that you'll all have the 411 about what's going on in my life. College has been one long, crazy ride and I care way too much about my friends to lose touch with them.

So for now, I'm chilling at my house in good ol' Mattapoisett trying to plan a trip to LA to look at apartments in two weeks. Then, it's off to Club SSP for the next two months, followed by the epic Roommate Road Trip to LA (well, I guess I can't technically call him my roommate anymore...) In any case, it looks like this summer will be one to remember.
